Art Camp is a week-long Summer camp located in Arlington Chinese Church (ACC) that is usually held on the last week of July. This Bible-themed camp offers several classes that teach art, crafts, music, and cooking. Classes are usually available for kids ages 5 – 14. Registrations usually begin in April.
Art Camp celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2018. It began when parents requested painting classes for their children. The founder of ACC’s Art Camp, Jan Chin, decided to turn the painting classes into a Summer Art Camp instead. Thanks to the help of the faithful coordinators, teachers, youth volunteers, and the ACC staff, Art Camp is still going strong after a decade.
In 2019, adult classes were also offered for campers’ parents and all grown-ups. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we held 2 Virtual Art Camps. In 2021, we tried a hybrid Art Camp with in-person and virtual tracks running simultaneously.
We give God the glory for having provided the people and the resources to make Art Camp a success for so many years.
