The preaching theme of the year 2022 is “Why Church?” Through the Book of Acts and Ecclesiology, we will learn the meaning of the church that God created, and how we can worship God, grow in spirit, and share the gospel together.

Announcements

1. Book Fair. Organized by Ruth Sisters’ Fellowship. Time: 10:00am-1:30pm on Aug 21st & 28th. Location: Arlington Chinese Church. It will display and sell spiritual books on different themes, such as life witness, missions, family, parenting, love and marriage, Bible study, etc. Brothers and sisters are welcome to attend and purchase spiritual books.
2. Administrative Staff change. We are thankful that Jane (Mrs. Shen) has accepted the position of
   Director of Administration, starting on August 1st. We thank Meijoo for her faithful service in the past six months. The church secretary job is now shared by Ai Looi and Xinxin. Ai Looi handles the bill payment and expense reimbursement. Xinxin is responsible for the Sunday bulletins and communication with congregations.
3. Mission’s Fundraising lunch on August 21st. We will have a fundraising lunch for the 2022 Mid-US Short-term Mission’s team. Thanksgiving & Prayer

1. Praise God that Art Camp has ended successfully! Thank God for His abundant grace. Thanks for all of your prayers. Thanks for the dedication of all teachers and co-workers! May the word of God remain in the hearts of all participants. May the Lord be glorified!
2. Pray for Pastor Kai and Kythrine as they minister to the believers in Europe. Pray for protection and wisdom as they encourage the believers there to grow closer to Jesus.
3. Pray for Pastor Simon’s family as they settle in their new home. Pray also for Jane as she begins her training as the church administrator.
4. Pray for the upcoming AWANA year, pray that God will provide enough teachers and helpers so that the children can be encouraged and challenged to become mature believers.
5. Pray for the need for Youth ministry sponsors as well as children’s ministry helpers.
6. Please pray for brothers and sisters in need:
   ➢ Continue to pray for Hsiao Lan and David C. as they continue to receive cancer treatment. David was admitted to the hospital because he became very weak and his brain is swollen due to the treatment. Doctors will be inserting tubes to drain the fluid from his brain.
   ➢ Pray for those who are ill or recovering: Raymond, Shumeng. Teacher Brenda will be going back for a regular checkup, pray for peace and good results.
7. Prayer for Southlake Campus
   ➢ The attendance has increased to 80 (including children) last Sunday. Pray that God will raise up more servants to serve the needs of that growing ministry.
   ➢ Pray that the current co-workers’ souls would be renewed and refreshed daily as they give themselves to the ministry of the body of Christ.
   ➢ Pray that more and more people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior through the Southlake campus.
   ➢ Pray that God will provide a meeting place that will be suitable to accommodate the needs of this campus.
